Every question. Answered honestly.
Standard Adventure: $2,900 (Spanish, French, Italian, German, Portuguese). Complex Adventure: $3,400 (Hebrew, Japanese, Russian, Korean). Continued subscription: $147/month or $1,589/year. Second and subsequent adventures: $2,400 and $2,900 respectively. Financing through Affirm at checkout.
That was a mistake. The old sales model required a discovery call before pricing was discussed. We understand why that felt suspicious — because it was a legitimate red flag. The new website has published pricing on every page. You will never have to speak to anyone to find out what this costs.
Yes, through Affirm at checkout. You can finance your adventure directly on the purchase page without
speaking to anyone.
LMA is built around language acquisition rather than language learning. Learning focuses on vocabulary memorization and grammar rules. Acquisition focuses on creating the conditions in which your brain absorbs a language naturally, through genuine human connection and emotionally engaged conversation with a native speaker. See The Method page for a full explanation.
Approximately 90 minutes of active participation per day during the 28-day adventure. This was not disclosed clearly enough in the past — it was only mentioned on the discovery call. That was wrong. We state it clearly here, on the homepage, and on the program page.
Sessions are available Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 11:00 PM Eastern Time, and Saturday and Sunday, 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM Eastern Time. We'll help you find times that work within this window.
To remain eligible for the Language Breakthrough Guarantee, your Adventure must be completed within 33 calendar days of the day it begins. This window is specifically calibrated to produce the breakthrough outcome, and it does not pause or extend for any reason.
You can still complete your Adventure beyond 33 days — you have up to 40 days total to finish. But completing after day 33 means the guarantee no longer applies. We can't continue extending the program indefinitely, so the 40-day mark is a hard stop either way. Your guide will help you stay on track well before either deadline matters.
No prior knowledge is required. Students with no exposure to a complex language (Hebrew, Japanese, Russian, Korean) will typically need a longer pre-program — 6 to 8 weeks rather than 2 to 4. Your guide will assess this in your first session.
Yes. All sessions are conducted via video call. You need a reliable internet connection, a camera, and a microphone.
Another legitimate criticism. The information was gated behind a form. That was friction that served no one. The full language list is now visible on this site before any form fill or purchase.
Native speakers of your target language, trained in the LMA acquisition method, and matched to you specifically based on your personality, interests, and communication style. Underperforming companions are removed from the program.
Your guide is your LMA team member from day one through the end of your adventure and beyond. They conduct your CEFR baseline assessment, match you with your companion, check in weekly during the adventure, and offer continued services afterward. Trained directly by Matej.
Your guide makes the companion match based on a detailed understanding of your personality and goals. If the connection isn't right, tell your guide immediately — we will find a better match.
No. You can purchase directly on this website right now. A free 15-minute intro call is available if you want to hear about the program before buying, but it is never required.
The old model was built around a high-touch sales process that required human interaction before pricing or enrollment. That model created friction and felt suspicious. The new model is fully self-serve. Buy when you're ready, on your schedule.
No. The full program price is subject to our guarantee as described on the Our Guarantee page.
A Language Breakthrough is a specific, measurable outcome — not a feeling. It has been achieved when you can speak for 10 consecutive minutes in your target language AND hold a 30-minute conversation with your Language Guide, OR when you advance at least two sub-levels on the CEFR scale from your documented baseline. LMA's assessment is final.
If you follow the program in full — completing within 33 days, using all assigned tools, attending all sessions, completing all assignments — and do not achieve the breakthrough, LMA repeats your adventure at no charge (Tier 1). If you complete the repeat in full and still no breakthrough, LMA issues a full refund within 100 calendar days (Tier 2).
Subjective dissatisfaction, not liking the companion or methodology, or failing to complete the program
within 40 days. The guarantee is available once per customer. Accessing the guarantee process means
permanent ineligibility to purchase future LMA services.
Completing the Adventure within 40 days, using all assigned tools (including LingQ and Pimsleur), following all Language Guide instructions, completing all assigned work, communicating challenges during the program (not after), and attending all sessions. Every customer signs an acknowledgment of these requirements at enrollment.
Matej KM Sedmak is the founder of LMA and a polyglot who speaks eight languages. He developed the LMA method over 20 years, with early versions tested in Japan between 2014 and 2018. He works directly with the guide team weekly and is actively involved in the methodology.
We know this has been asked in online communities, and we understand why the old website raised those questions. No published pricing. No methodology explanation. No language list. A required sales call. These were all legitimate red flags and we don't dismiss them. The new LMA addresses every one: published pricing everywhere, full methodology explanation, complete language list, self-serve purchase, professional communication, and a specific objective money-back guarantee. We were a real program with a marketing model that made us look like one. That model is gone.
